So I kinda got nominated along with 14 other bloggers over at The Midnight Ballroom for a Versatile Blog... Thing. Anyway, the recipiant of this has to write 7 random facts about themselves, and that's what I'll do! Thanks for tagging me DuskRose!

1. I love BJDs. I could sit and stare at my babies for hours to end and make clothes for them without taking a break! They're so beautiful and their eyes are so full of life it's almost scary.

2. Cosplay is a very huge part of my life and one of the main reasons I socialize with others at all.

3. I'm afraid of the dark. I hate going home from school when it's dark outside and I don't like to open my eyes if I wake up in the middle of the night. Still I love it and find it very fascinating.

4. I tend to love things that scare me... *pokes thunderstorms, BJDs, good horror stories, monsters, clowns, the dark, mirrors (god the mirrors!! .. <3)*

5. I love too many clothing styles to keep with just one. My top favorites are lolita (of course), goth and steampunk and even if I love these I also love to mix and match looks and styles and experiment. Both for the better and for the worse.

6. When I eat I need to eat EVERYTHING on the plate. Down to the last drop of sauce. I constantly get comments on this from both family and friends, but if I don't scrape the plate I feel... weird afterwards. *thinks*

7. I hate open closets/cupboards/drawers. Not because I find it creepy, but because it looks terrible! They're supposed to be closed when you're not looking for anything in them!

Not very interesting facts, but facts at least! *chuckles* Anyway. I don't know who to nominate at all... But just to make it simple I will give it to my good friend Swofter! Have fun, hun!

Oh, wow... Would you look at that. It seems I suddenly headed off on an unannounced hiatus! It's weird how that seems to happen every time I go back home for holidays. But that's simply because a lot happens when I'm home. This time I met up with a lot of my friends and I spent a lot of well earned time with my boyfriend. <3 Yes, he deserves a mention and heart since he holds out with me even if we didn't see each other for three and half months.

Anyway! While I was back home stuffing my face with candy and food (come on, it was easter. I was allowed!), I got an awesome note on Livejournal! In May there will be a lolita meetup in Oslo, Norway! If I am lucky and they choose the 14th of May as a date (it's either that or the 21st), I will finally be able to attend my very first lolita meetup! I am very excited about this and I have already started to figure out what to wear. Of course I want to look my best on such an occation.

Other then this I don't really have much more to say. I have a lot of blogs to read and some comments to reply to, so I will get to that tonight and I will try to make next post more interesting! I hope everyone else have had a great easter holiday.

So one of my favorite past times is simply to sketch out dream outfits or simply design outfits for fun. And since I drew two more today, I decided I wanna share some of them! Please ignore the bad quality of the pictures... This is what happens when a person forget her scanner at the other side of the country. *sighs*

Or; "You use what you have". It just have a better ring in sort-of-norwegian.

That was my idea for my exam assignment (since I really didn't have enough money (or time for that matter) to buy more fabric. But here is the result! And since it was a "do whatever the hell you want as long as you can wear it"-task, of course I decided to do something lolita related. Even more specified; A lolita skirt. I don't get why I keep making skirts all the time. I don't really like wearing them and never find a good way of wearing them either. But anyway, a skirt it became!

For this skirt I simply used leftovers of fabric I had lying around and cut apart an old F+F dress I had (this one in grey: Clicky!) and a former failed skirt I liked the fabric of. With this I made a patchwork skirt (inspired by another norwegian blogger with my own twist) and here's the result!
 The lining! It's a bit loose.. That something I'll have to remember until next time too.

Anyway! What do you guys think? I still need to iron it a bit and get rid of some loose threads, but other then that I'm finished. If anyone have some constructive critique I would love to hear it!

While I sit here, gobbling up my evening meal concisting of lasagna, I wonder for myself; is there more to lolitas and food then just sweets and pastry? This is actually a question and an idea that's been hanging around my head for a while (yes, ideas just tend to hang around in my head without me actually doing anything about them). Sure, I like sweets and cupcakes and chocolate just as much as any other person, but I feel that in lolita that is all they ever talk about when it comes to food. It might also be I've been hanging out at the wrong places on the web too, but...

Every time I read about a meet up, it's all about cupcakes, cookies, macarons, cakes and tea. Some meets at cafés and pikniks have featured some fruit tarts and sandwiches, but has anyone ever invited some lolitas to actually enjoy a proper evening feast or a fine dinner?

Now just imagine a bunch of lolitas sitting around a very well decorated table with candles burning and an assortment of food placed on the table and red wine (or anything non alcoholic for the younger ones) in their glasses. All enjoying a civilized meal with interesting and fun conversation, and perhaps even acting a little into their roles as elegant ladies or gentlemen.

For me it sounds absolutely wonderful. It also sounds fun! The host could even make it more interesting by perhaps perfecting a special well tasting 3 course meal to serve her/his guests. Make it a meal not only to feast your stomachs on, but also your eyes! Another idea for an elegant and well tasting meet, would be a visit to a fine restaurant that perhaps was followed by a trip to the theatre. Expencive yes, but absolutely worth it. <3


As the food wreck I am this would be the perfect idea for a small meetup between friends and I hope some day I will be able to do something like this for fellow lolitas.

So what would you serve if you invited a few lolita friends over for a fine dinner? Or would you never dream of doing something like that?

Yes, today was a good day and this is actually a sewing post. I'm afraid to say I am STILL not done with the skull fabric dress yet, but I'm going to kick myself in gear and finish it over the weekend (hopefully). But today we had sowing in school, so a classmate picked me up so I could bring my sowing machine. Our assignement for the day was to make...

A TOTE BAG!

Which was perfect since I have thought of getting a tote bag for long! It was easy and fun, and it made me want to make more of them. This is the result;
Ah, yes. It's a piano tote bag! And it's large so I can fit about anything in it. I know this isn't strictly lolita related, but this bag would do awesome with any future music inspired coords (with Dance of the Black Cat in burgundy for example? <3 I can dream...). Also, it's very sturdy and will probably last for a good while. The red fabric is upholstery fabric. Thick and textured. The white of the piano keys is cotton that's sewn on and the black keys are stamped on with fabric paint. Added to this the whole bag is also lined with cotton.
This is my first tote bag, but it was very easy and I will definatly make more, because this was fun! We also got our exam assignement today, and I'm lucky! The assignement is simply to make one thing we can wear (can be anything as long as it's textile and can be worn on the body) and to make one thing we can carry something in/on. Yeay for assignements with room for personal taste! =D

What about the rest of you? Do you like to sew? And what do you like to make the most? I love to make skirts, but I honestly think tote bags are my new favorite!
